WELCOME TO HOSEKI

宝石 (Hoseki) means 'gem' in Japanese, this word means everything to our family as all our 3 children has the word gem in their names.

Our story began with Yuri and Tsengel, who met in Manchester while working in a small independent cafe in Manchester 14 years ago.

Our main guy Yuri (dad and the chef) worked in numerous high end Asian restaurants across the UK for the last 10 years, sponging all the knowledge and experience he could get to open his own business. One of his speciality is sushi and being an absolute hero at DIY.

Tsengel, well where do we begin with her... She is the mum and really the real boss behind the scene. She is the belt that holds the trousers and everything else. She also makes all the sensible decisions like stopping Yuri from buying £50 chopping board (I know).

And then we have the 3 children, Yusun- Erdene, Amin- Erdene and Ochir-Erdene. 'Erdene' means Hoseki and Hoseki means gem and this is our fourth gem.

A meal in Japan is very important to society, because there is more to just eating the food; there are several rules and etiquettes to follow. A meal in Japanese society goes beyond food, because through a meal people can socialize, build stronger bonds, cooperate, work in teams and help society to develop.
